Forgotten Friday

Norwich 2 Brighton 0

Work has really put a dent in my blogging groove and I have completely forgotten to document Friday night.

My husband went to the football with his Dad and my Mother-in-law and I had a lovely steak tea. My eldest stayed up with us as an end of the week treat and ate a second tea of corn on the cob.

I'll try and be better on Saturday.

Easter Monday

Preston 1 Norwich 3

So the last of the day of the long weekend is already here and although I have tomorrow off it still feels a bit sad. We have had a lovely easter catching up with friends and visiting attractions.

Today we have been for Sunday lunch at my mum's which was really nice. The highlight for our eldest was going on a duckling hunt in Heacham. Luckily we found two sets and none were run over. For any Mum's out there that feel like they are failing just remember you are a better mother than a duck.

The week ahead sees us finding out about our eldest school and me trying to get a more permanent job. Wish us luck.

Good Friday

Norwich 1 Fulham 3

I am panic writing this blog tonight as I have just found out there is another game tomorrow, and I do not want to get behind on my posts.

After working on Wednesday and Thursday I was looking forward to a day at home with the girls. We/ I had lots of Easter arts and crafts planned. Our eldest had a bit of a bumpy night, she woke up all hot and bothered after a bad dream and we were worried she was coming down with a cold.

In the morning she proclaimed she was poorly and that she needed to spend the day in her pyjamas, apart from this she seemed fine, so who am I to argue with her. Luckily she was well enough to help me make toilet roll bunnies and chicks. My toilet roll creation are the bane of my husband's life as I tend to hoard empty tubes and we are swift running out of storage space for them.

We had a very uneventful but pleasant day spent at home in our pyjamas and the girls were in clean pyjamas and ready for bed before their Daddy got back from the football.

Play Date

Norwich 7 Reading 1

Is summer here already? The weather has been beautiful this weekend and we have been enjoying the great outdoors. On Friday we went for an early evening drink at the King William with the girls. And on Saturday we had a picnic tea in the garden and a trip to the playground with friends. And on Sunday we had a BBQ.

But back to game day. It was nice on Saturday to just have a day at home with the girls. Now I am working again, although only part time at the moment, it has made me appreciate them more. We had our eldest's best friend over for a play date and she of course loved showing off her bedroom and taking our guests to the local playground. The girls were both really well behaved all day and we got bathtime done before Daddy got home from the football including all sets of nails cut and hairwashed. Getting the jump on Sunday night's chores.

I am already looking forward to the long weekend next weekend.

On telly

Huddersfield  Norwich

I have been warned all week that Norwich are on Telly tonight. Therefore I have planned to sort out my finances and have a nice bath.

Both are treats for me mainly because I got child benefit today so that was a nice suprise. And also because I've been at work today so a bath will be a nice relaxing treat. I might even have bubbles and chocolates.

Boss Baby

Aston Villa 2 Norwich 0

So I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front this week, for two reasons; one the international break and two dipping my feet back into the work place, since my maternity leave has now ended.

We now find ourselves in April with only a handful of games left of the season, no manager and no chances of getting in the playoffs. But I digress on with the blog. Luckily our eldest is too young to know about April Fool's day so we didn't have to worry about cling film on the toliet etc this morning. But after a bad night with both of them ending up in bed with us. April Fool jokes were far from our minds.

We had another cinema trip planned today we wanted to go and see Boss Baby, however as my husband also wanted to see the Liverpool derby on TV we were on an in and out trip with no stopping for toy shops or lunch. The film was great although we are now worried our baby is really a mini boss as she seems to respond to the new nickname Boss Baby a bit too well. And thanks to the climax of the film being set in Las Vegas we now have another member of the family that wants to go there.

As my husband had recorded the football he started watching it as soon as we got home, as live, and knowing he would also want to listen to the Norwich game. I suggested taking the girls out for a walk in the village. My father in law delivers the village newletters once a month and we have got into the habit of doing this for him with my mil. So today the girls and I decided to do it on our own. I was very impressed by how well my eldest remembered the route as she knew some houses we had to deliver it to that even I had forgotten.  I always make notes on our trip around the village as when I finally write my Agatha Raisin style book my leading character will also deliver newsletter's. My only note of interest today was that some one had left their axe out whilst chopping wood. A good murder weapon perhaps!

As the football was still on when we got back we had a few games of hide and seek before heading out to the ship pub to enjoy the sunny weather before the girls bedtime.
